We would like to thank everyone for your patience and participation at our final day of registration and evaluations. We also appreciate the help getting the fields prepared after the hard rain so we could complete the evaluations and keep the season on schedule.
NSLL is proud to announce we had a very healthy registration. Thanks to your support we had more kids register this year than any other. We look forward to providing a safe and positive place for young people to play baseball and softball.
The 2012 Spring draft takes place the week of February 6th. All players will be contacted by their new coach in mid-February.
Thanks again for your support!
Potential Managers: We need a couple more managers to help coach teams this year. We have spots available in Tee Ball and Machine Pitch divisions. If you are interested in managing a team please email: president@sanorthside.org
2012 Spring Evaluations Dates and Times
NSLL evaluates the skill level of every player in order to create equally matched teams in each division. Every player must evaluate. Teeball players are the only exception. A player cannot make the major division if he does not evaluate.
Although we have multiple evaluation days, all that is required is that your child make one of these times. We highly encourage you to attend the first evaluation possible. Weather will sometimes cause an issue around evaluations.
Your child should attend in baseball/softball gear and arrive with their own glove, bat & helmet. We will have extra bats and helmets if needed. Please arrive early and sign-in before the beginning of the designated time for your division. We also recommend at least 15 minutes of throwing and stretching before the evaluation to warm up.
The complete process takes roughly 45 minutes. The players will catch pop fly's, throw the ball in from the outfield, field grounders at short stop, throw balls to first base, receive throws at first base, bat and run from home to first base.
The process cannot tell us everything about your child, but the prospective managers and league representatives that evaluate the kids can see skill level based on this short process.
Every player will make a team. After evaluations, teams will be formed and you will be contacted by email or phone by your manager, roughly mid February for Spring, and late August for Fall Ball.
